CCT: Star Trek Experience Tour – Part 1

While Chuck and I were in Last Vegas for the New Media Expo 2008, we knew that we had to make a special stop while we were there..The Star Trek Experience.

For 10 years The Star Trek Experience located at the Las Vegas Hilton has been captivating trekkers/trekkies with an immersive world that literally drops you from one reality into another walking down corridors and right onto the bridge of the enterprise. Well the time has come for it to move along, but before that happened Chuck and I had the opportunity to take the ‘Behind the Scenes’ tour and take you along with us.

This is part 1 of a 2 part series where we talk to April Hebert, a tour guide with the Star Trek Experience who has been there from the beginning, and we talk about the History of the attraction and how it all works.

PAX08 Concert – JoCo and Felicia Day Sing "Still Alive"

Not entirely sure how I got there, but I found this on Wonderflonium.com. It’s nice to finally see what everyone was twittering about the other day. Felicia certainly has a sweet singing voice, gotta remember to get the soundtrack when it comes out.

Winged Cat Found in China

Winged cat found in China via Boing Boing

The first thing I thought of when I saw this story was an RPG video game from my childhood. Lunar: The Silver Star had a wise cracking flying cat as the sidekick to the hero of the game. I looked up the game on Wikipedia and remembered that the flying cat, Nall, was actually a baby dragon. So, maybe the Chinese winged cat will keep growing into a dragon.

Interview – Richard Garriott

Richard Garriott, aka Lord British, is best known for his series of Ultima video games dating back to the early 1980s. He’s back in the news with an upcoming mission to the International Space Station. We called him up to learn how the old games were made, what inspired him, his upcoming mission and Operation Immortality. You’re going to love this!

Update: 10/14/2008 (8AM EST) – Richard successfully made it to the ISS a couple hours ago! Congratulations! We look forward to hearing from him when he returns.
