CCT: Way Back Machine

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away I met Fred. Fred is of my old School friends that shared my excitement about computers and all other types of geekery.

We use to hang out a good it but somewhere along the way, life gave us both different directions and we had lost touch. However, in this day and age..and the magic of Facebook we have had a chance to catch up.

This show is a little self indulgent, but I thought that others might like to hear us clamoring on about the “good ol’ days” reliving some past memories.

Star Wars / MacGyver Mashup

Ok, I’ll admit that the last time I watched the originally trilogy was back in high school. It wasn’t until I saw this intro with the MacGyver music that I realized how well Star Wars fits the 80’s TV show cliche. It’s trippy…way more trippy than the Star Trek / A-Team mashup

National Pi Day

National Pi Day? Congress makes it official via /.

The U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday approved a resolution introduced two days earlier that designates March 14, 2009 (3/14, get it?) as National Pi Day. It urges schools to take the opportunity to teach their students about Pi and “engage them about the study of mathematics.

Let’s hope this isn’t the end of the road for Congress in improving math and science eduction.

Carnival Valor – Part 2

This is the second in a two part series to bring you some geeky “behind the scenes” stuff about what it takes to bring you such a good time. In part 1, we got a tour of a good part of the ship (trust me, there’s more that we didn’t get to.) In part 2, we talk to one of the bridge officers, senior engineers, the cruise director, and the on-board IS manager. Good stuff!
