LEGO House – Victorian Style

A scale model Victorian era house made entirely out of Legos

LEGO Victorian House

Weird doesn’t quite begin to describe this thing. It looks as though it were lifted out of the set of a Tim Burton movie. A couple of the pics have some really close up macro shots of the Lego pieces. 100k+ pieces of Lego in all. The fact that the trees are made of authentic Lego pieces is the most creepy part. Those pieces do not look like any Lego pieces I’ve seen before.

A big thanks to for pointing this story my way.

Farewell Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs will be missed. Cancer sucks. It takes too many good people. No doubt he was one of the most creative minds ever. He inspired a generation and took us in to the future. Heck, I found out about his passing on an Apple device (and I’ll bet many of you did also) and I am typing this article on a MacBook Pro. I realized this morning that I was introduced to his technology 30 years ago. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends.

Technorama Day – 10/1

Saturday October 1 is Technorama Day. Why? Because we always sign off our show with a “binary high five” and, of course, five in binary is 1-0-1 (but you already knew that.) So Saturday is October 1, or 10/1 (in the US anyway) – that makes it Technorama Day – we say so. Hey! Someone had to claim March 14 (3/14) as “Pi Day” and that’s only accurate to two decimal places. Sheesh! Ours is binary, it’s perfectly suited for integers. Spread the word and show your geekness. Sure, you’ll get a few “Techno-what-day?” Just respond “Man, I thought you were cool!” Then steer them here. That always works for me.

Star Wars – Throne Room Theme on Floppy Drives

Chuck passed this little gem along. I’m not sure how many floppy drives this guy/gal had to go through to find just the right tones but it was worth it. Hm, how does one tune a floppy drive anyway?

Stop Forwarding that Crap to Me

This is the first song of Weird Al’s that hasn’t made me cringe. And I feel the need to bookmark this in some public way. So when my mom discovers this song three years from now, I can point to something to make her stop forwarding that crap to me.

Well, not really. But it could be true if I ever check what gets caught in that “mom” filter I setup.
