Time Traveller or a Guy Who Dresses Ahead of His Time

A 1940's photo of a guy in modern day shades, t-shirt and SLR camera

Time Traveller or a guy too chic for 1940

Found this story through Photojojo. The story on Photojojo was whether this was fake or a really mysterious coincidence. The forensic analysis reminds me of a script-kiddy but it could pass for a cursory review. So what do you think? Is he a time traveller caught on tape or just a dude who dresses ahead of his time?

Sony retires the cassette Walkman

Wow…I saw this and my immediate reaction was, “They still sell the cassette Walkman?”. Apparently they do/did.

After retiring the floppy disk in March, Sony has halted the manufacture and distribution of another now-obsolete technology: the cassette Walkman, the first low-cost, portable music player. The final batch was shipped to Japanese retailers in April, according to IT Media. Once these units are sold, new cassette Walkmans will no longer be available through the manufacturer

A year’s worth of food for $800

From Costco no less.  I don’t know if Costco’s calendar is 6 months out of whack, but I don’t think this is an April Fools joke.  One year’s worth of food in a shipping crate for $800.  And it’s not the good stuff either, it comes in cans with labels like “textured vegetable protein” to disguise the fake meat.  Nom, nom, hurl.

For an upcoming show we have a passage from something, could be a computer manual or something from Wikipedia, and we have removed select words from it. Your, mission should you accept it, is to provide us with replacement words to pop in.

To participate, all you have to do is email us at technorama at chuckchat.com and reference “Technorama Mad-libs #1” in the subject and put your words in the email. We will read this Technorama Mad-libs on the show next week (10/10/10).

What we need for this one:

3 verbs, 4 nouns, and 1 adjective.
