- It was on this date in 1915 that Albert Einstein presents the field equations of general relativity to the Prussian Academy of Sciences.
- It was 75 years ago today that World War II: First flight of the de Havilland Mosquito and Martin B-26 Marauder.
- November 25, 1952, Agatha Christie’s murder-mystery play The Mousetrap opens at the Ambassadors Theatre in London. It will become the longest continuously-running play in history.
- That same date in 1984, Thirty-six top musicians gather in a Notting Hill studio and record Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” in order to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia.

- French astronomer and botanist Jean-François Séguier, born on this date in 1703.
