    Sorry I couldn’t be there for the taping Sunday night. Regarding the betaMax, that “alarm clock” on the top was the timer. You plugged the recorder into that unit. After my first betaMax died, I kept using the timer as my clock. Had it for years. Probably worked better than any other piece of Sony equipment I’ve ever owned. 😉

    P.S. I still have a betaMax recorder.
