    Chuck please tell me it’s not true. You bought an ACER netbook. Man I would never buy anything with the Acer name on it. I do I.T. support and have no end of problems with those systems. Hope you have a beter experince thatn most of my customers.

      Digishark, I too am in IT and know the Acer reputation. I did not make the decision without careful thought. Way different scale, but still consideration was needed. First, this machine won’t be doing much more than 2 hours of work a week. I’d rather support one machine at home than dozens or hundreds at work. When I looked at the competitors, their names didn’t carry much more credibility (with few exceptions). Asus? Dell? C’mon – those aren’t exactly known for their reliability either. The exception was HP, but comparing CPU, HDD, RAM, graphics, and other features, I didn’t find HP compelling. So far I’m happy with the decision. I appreciate the concern.

    well maybe this was just a knee jerk reaction to my past experience with Acer systems. I really like the MSI wind and the Dell mini for netbooks. I would be eager to learn what your experience with the Acer is after a couple of months. I may need reevaluate my hatred for the product line.
