This is the 101st day of the year in the Gregorian calendar. There are 264 days remaining in 2018.
- It was on this date in 1951, that The Stone of Scone, the stone upon which Scottish monarchs were traditionally crowned, is found on the site of the altar of Arbroath Abbey. It had been taken by Scottish nationalist students from its place in Westminster Abbey.
- It was also this date in 1957 that United Kingdom agrees to Singaporean self-rule.
- 50 years ago today, President Lyndon B. Johnson signs the Civil Rights Act of 1968, prohibiting discrimination in the sale, rental, and financing of housing.
- It was on this date in 1970, that Apollo 13 is launched.
- Also on April 11, 1976, The Apple I is created.
