Hi guys,
My first introduction to Oregon Trail was on the MECC Teletype computer.  We would log in to MECC with a 300 baud acoustical coupler.  The computer would save your work to ticker tape.  Link: Google Images
Everything was a text prompt.  To hunt you had to type bang.  if you did not type fast enough, you missed.  And I laugh now at fast enough because it was over a 300 baud modem.
Here are a few links to the beginnings:
The Origin of the Oregon Trail Computer Game – Tested.com

This link was the closest I could find to the output code:
How the Oregon Trail (Computer Game) Was Formed
Oh how I wish I kept one of the printouts from then.  Maybe there is one in my old Apple IIc box.
